| Things To Ponder |
| Rules for Being Human |
| 1. A Body was given to you. You can love it or detest it, but it will be yours for the duration of this life. 2. You will learn lessons. You are enrolled full-time in an informal school called “life.” Each day you will have the occasion to learn lessons in this school. You may love these lessons or you may think they are stupid or without pertinence. 3. There are no mistakes- only lessons. Growing is a process of trial and error: experiments. “Failed” experiments are as much of the process as success 4. One lesson will be repeated until it is learned. This lesson will be presented under different forms until you have learned it. When this lesson is learned, you will go on to another lesson. 5. Learning lessons never ends. There is no part of life that does not contain lessons. If there is life, there are lessons to be learned. 6. “Over There” is not better than “over here.” When “over there” becomes “over here,” there will be another “over there” that will seem better than “over here. 7. Others are essentially mirrors of yourself. If you love or hate something in another/others, this something reflects something you love or hate in you. 8. What you do with your “life” depends upon yourself. You have all the tools, all the resources that you need. What you do depends upon yourself. The choice is yours. 9. All the answers are in you. The answers to questions about life are in you. All that you need is to look, listen, and have confidence. 10. When you begin opening up to this confidence, you will remember more and more of what is said here. |

When you get what you want in your struggle for self, And the world makes you Queen for a day Just go the mirror and look at your Self And see what that GIRLhas to say. For it’s not your husband or family or friend Whose judgment upon you must pass, It’s the GIRL whose verdict counts most in the end Is the one staring back from the glass. Some people may think you’re an up-standin’ chum And call you a person of place, But the GIRL in the glass says you’re only a bum If you can’t look them back in the face. You’re the GIRL to please, never mind all the rest for you are you to the end, And you’ve passed your most dangerous, difficult test, If the GIRL in the glass is your friend. You may fool the world down the pathway of years And get pats on the back as you pass, But your final reward will be heartache and tears If you’ve cheated the GIRL in the glass. |

| Attitude by Charles Swindoll |
"The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life.
It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company ... a church ... a home. The remarkable thing is, we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past ... We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing We can do is play on the one string We have, and that is our attitude ... 10% what happens to me & 90% how I react to it And so it is with you ... We are in charge of our attitudes" |
